Ben Armstrong – Senior Vice Commander
Ben is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps who served in support of Operation Enduring and Iraqi Freedom as an Aviation Electrician with Marine Attack Squadron VMA-231 from 1999-2004. After leaving the military, Ben received his undergraduate degree from Texas State University and his Masters of Public Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Since leaving the service, Ben has focused intensely on helping his fellow veterans with their transitions out of the military. He served as the Director of Veteran Services for the University of Texas at Austin before moving to New Orleans to work for the City’s Department of Homeland Security. Currently, Ben is focused on developing opportunities for the Post to develop partnerships with veteran service organizations and agencies in the New Orleans area to provide resources to and perform outreach to veterans throughout the community.
